Somebody is the BIG 0-2!

Edit Posted by with No comments
Oh Lexi girl, you just celebrated the BIG 0-2!  Happy Birthday to the absolute best girl I know!  A week before your birthday, Grammie and Pa Pa came in for a visit and we celebrated your upcoming birthday with a Minnie Mouse party of sorts.  We baked and decorated Mickey Mouse cupcakes. Daddy picked up a big batch of Mickey Mouse balloons for you, and you wore this gorgeous little Minnie Mouse-inspired bubble outfit along with your Minnie Mouse high heels.  What a fancy birthday girl!

Here's a look at your cupcakes.  They were a big hit, especially the oreos, which you call Mickey cookies, and are still asking for weeks later now.

Ummm, mmmm, good!

Where'd our Lexi girl go?!?!?

Then, when April 30 rolled around, we decided to celebrate by doing all the fun things that you like to do.  So we started our day at Puckett's, where you had your own Mickey Mouse pancake and a plate full of bacon!

Yep, you ate all the bacon and the majority of the pancake too!  I'd say you enjoyed your breakfast!

And then we got a few pics with the birthday girl!  You enjoy creamer just as much as your Mama does!

Here you are with Dada, and more creamer- a whole bowl of it!

That was a hit. Counting the creamers and stacking them all up.  It's the little things...

The gang's all here!

And then it was time to wrap it up and head on out.

It was off to our next destination- The Franklin Theatre- for your very first movie in the theatre. They were playing Kung Fu Panda 3 that morning, so we decided to give it a go.  This is one of the better pics of your dress.  It was handmade from vintage fabric by a nice lady in Thompson's Station, TN.  And I just love it.  We added matching strawberry espadrille sandals to complete your birthday look.

So exciting!  Here you are heading in to see your movie!

And did you like it?  I'd say so.  Yes, you stood in your seat and giggled and squealed.  It was precious.  And the movie held your attention for almost 30 minutes before you became more interested in checking out the rest of the theatre so we took the cue and made our exit.

Not before I got this little video though.  It's pretty dark because we were inside the movie theatre, but you can hear you laughing and having a good time.  It's darling.

After lunch, it was time for a little birthday cake, and this time, it was an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins.  Just take a look at that adorable cake and the adorable Babydoll too!

This cake was entirely made of ice cream- no actual cake at all- just the way you like it.  You ate a ton of ice cream, some cone too, and of course- several cherries.

Next up - birthday presents!  Looks like Izzie is there to assist.  This is another good shot of your pretty birthday dress.

In honor of your love of ice cream, we got you your own ice cream set.  Here you are playing with it!

Later on, we decided to take you to Chuck E Cheese to play games and run around.  It was a busy night.  Lots of kids everywhere, but that didn't slow you down!  You gravitated to this game.  It played music and the discs on the floor lit up when you stomped on them.  We kept trying to show you other games too, but you only wanted to play this one!

Dada did manage to take you for a spin in the old Cobra car.

And later, we also tested out this train too.

This horse ride was super popular and super cute.  We kept eyeing it, waiting for it to become free.  When it finally did, we plopped you on it, and I think you liked it.  But as soon as it was over, you were scrambling to get down again.

Here's a little video clip of you riding the train, and some other little kid hitching a ride with you....

And before we left, Daddy saw a machine to take photos with, so he thought he would give it a go.  The first pic was supposed to be Daddy and Lexi, but since he said he didn't know how it worked, it ended up being just a pic of Daddy.  So here's Exhibit A:

Once he figured out how it worked, we did get a pic of Daddy and Lexi.  I present Exhibit B:

Note, Lexi wins the prize for best photo ever, followed closely by Daddy (who supposedly figured out how this machine worked on the previous photo.)  :)

Not to be outdone, Daddy wanted to try one more time, this time with Mama.  Much better. However, your Mama looks like she is staring into the heavens, no telling what she is dreaming about there. Dada did manage to look much happier though.

Here's Exhibit C:

We wrapped things up and headed to Red Lobster for dinner to celebrate your birthday the way it was intended- with cheddar biscuits and popcorn shrimp.

What a day, Babydoll!  We sure do love you!  Happy Happy Birthday to the BEST GIRL IN THE LAND!
