Another month, another set of milestones. Babydoll, you are 16 months old now. I still can hardly believe that you are no longer a newborn. But I do love this and every age/ stage. You are one amazing little girl.
This month, you are saying even more new words:
- Diaper
- Nana (your new name for Grammie)
- Pa pa (your new name for P-pa)
- door (Grammie taught you this one.)
- Donna
- Off
- Boo boo (as in the cat, who you adore)
- Minnie (as in the Mouse- you can't say Mickey yet!)
You have eight teeth so far, four on the top and four on the bottom. Though it appears that you have more teeth coming in now. Your gums are swollen in several places and you are starting to be drool again. I give you Tylenol at night to help with that but otherwise it doesn't seem to be giving you too many problems.
For the first time this month, you pulled off your diaper. Daddy put you down for a nap with just a diaper on one morning. I came back in later when you woke up and you were holding the diaper in your hand, saying "diaper, diaper, diaper!" You were clearly very proud of yourself. Note to all involved, make sure to always put clothes on this baby. She is a a crafty one.
You have graduated in the toy department to puzzles now. It's so fun to see you picking up those big pieces and studying them, and plucking them down, even in the right spots. Good girl! You still love putting things into and pulling things out of other things. Your picnic basket and cookie jar toys are still favorites in this department.
You LOVE your Teddy Bear. We keep him in the car so he can ride along with you in the back seat. You hug on him every time you see him and still often drag him into stores with us. We don't dare bring him inside. I think Izzie would be all over that, and it would be all over indeed.
You have officially discovered the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. You watch the show, going on and on about "Minnie" all the while. And at the end of each show they always play the "Hot Dog Song". You always drop what you are doing and come over to watch and dance along. You bob up and down in perfect rhythm to the tune. Oh my!
You are associating like crazy. You are pulling on door knobs, putting keys up to the door, putting an empty cup up to the fridge (where the ice and water come out), pointing the remote at the tv, putting your toys in the bins, putting your tub duckies on the side of the tub when we are done bathing (because that's what I have always done), and trying to brush your own hair (and mine) with your brush.
You get into Izzie's dog bowls all the time. Poor Iz. I usually end up picking them up and putting them up high, but then she's short on food and water until you are off to other things again.
Lexi, you carry things around all the time, usually boxes bigger than you are. You pick up everything- bonus points if it's something you aren't supposed to have!
Now, you have started taking your baby and blankets with you from the bed every time you wake up in the morning or from a nap. If you accidentally leave them behind, you point to them until I grab them for you.
Oh, and you also point out other babies now too, when we are out or if you see one on tv, you point and say "baby, baby!" Silly girl, don't you know you are the baby!
