Lexi girl, from the moment you were born and even still, everyone who has ever laid eyes on you says that you look just like your Daddy. Yes, that red hair and those pretty blue eyes are undeniable. They definitely came from your Daddy. But I have always seen myself in you. It wasn't until recently, when FINALLY, finally someone in my family saw it too. It was my Aunt Gladys who mentioned it this past Christmas. She said that you reminded her of me when I was a little girl. It was then, and only then, that my sisters agreed that they could see it too once the seed had been planted. My Daddy (your Granddaddy) still contends that you look just like your Daddy though. sigh...
But after rummaging through some old photos to find ones where I would have been about the same age that you are now, I uncovered Exhibit A:
I'm the baby on the left- you know the one who looks just like you. :)
And then there's Exhibit B. This time I'm the baby on the right, and even I can't get over the resemblance. Exactly the same face, long lean body, chubby cheeks, and chunky feet. Even the hair is the same.
I present Exhibit C. This time I'm on the left again, and pulling one of those classic Lexi faces. That's Granddaddy in the middle and Aunt Donna on the right. You know Aunt Donna and Mama are twins, right? That's why there are so many baby pics of your Mama that are photobombed by another baby. :)
Then there's Exhibit D. I'm on the right in this one, and a little older than you are now. This one strikes me because of the hair. It's like looking right at you, Babydoll.
Exhibit E: That's your Mama. You are looking right back at me again, sweet girl.
Exhibit F follows. That's me right around 14 months old. You are older than that now, but I see you there.
Exhibit G. Too bad photos from my childhood are not digital or high resolution. I just see that little mouth wide open and I see you, Lexi.
Exhibit H: Look at that face, those cheeks, the hair. It's you, doll.
Exhibit I: One more. I'm on the left. If my hair were longer, I would swear I was looking at you.
I rest my case Babydoll. I really AM your Mama! I knew I was in there somewhere. Now you are far more beautiful than I ever hoped to be. I'm sure your Daddy will take credit for that part. :) We are just so darn proud of you, sweet love.
