Lexi, a couple weekends ago, we visited Santa Claus, IN to take you to Holiday World for the very first time. They are celebrating their 70th anniversary this summer. That's a long time for a theme park. It used to be called Santa Claus Land back in the day. But now the park is divided into separate holiday zones. Most of the kiddie rides were in the 4th of July area so we started our day there. Here we are on the Holidog Train. It used to be called the Freedom Train, and is the only ride still there from the original days of the park.
The train passes through lots of nursery rhyme statues situated around the grounds. Very cute, but I doubt that modern day kids have any idea who those statues are supposed to be. Thankfully, you are an old fashioned girl who is in tune to the old nursery rhymes.
As we started our day, we got you measured and got you a wristband so it was easy to determine which rides you were able to ride for your height. You measured 36 inches tall (with shoes) which was the magic number to get you onto all the rides you wanted to ride. Thank goodness. Although you were less than impressed with this "bracelet" so Mama ended up wearing it around for you.
What you were impressed with were the "Tippecanoe" boat rides. Here you are enjoying yourself immensely.
Big girl! You rode that little boat all by yourself!
Now Daddy always rides the Merry Go Round with you. So here y'all are taking a spin. We were the first in line for this ride so you were able to take your pick of animals. There was only one dragon and I think all the kids wanted it. But first in line meant that you got it. Sweet girl!
Daddy also took you on your first roller coaster ride. Yall rode in the last car and I shot this video. We aren't quite sure that you loved it but you did it, and you can check that off now.
We all rode on the Jeep Safari ride and you drove, of course. Although, I think you liked honking the horn better than anything. Go, Lexi, go!
Back in the kiddie section, you really liked this fish ride. You rode it twice in a row and picked your color of fish both times. Blue fish first, then red. You have lots of ideas.
And then you also rode on Santa's sleigh ride, and a friend joined you this time.
You were pretty adamant about riding the Flying Eagles ride, and it was honestly the longest line we stood in all day. We probably waited for at least 20 minutes (or more) for this ride, but we did it, didn't we, Babydoll! And you really liked this one!
After lunch, we visited the water park part of Holiday World and you loved that too! No pictures there because we were all in the water and that just doesn't mix. Lines for the water rides were long because it was super busy and very hot that day, so of course, people flocked to the water to cool down. We didn't really ride any of the water rides, but we did a lot of splashing in the pools and splash pads. There were lots of water slides in those areas too that we took advantage of.
Overall, I think you really enjoyed it. Lexi, you sure are a good time girl!
