Lexi at 14 Months

Edit Posted by with No comments
Oh my, sweet babydoll.  The floodgates have officially opened.  You are on the move, taking steps, cruising around the ottomans and the edge of the couch, crawling around the house at light speed.  I blink, and you are gone, gone, gone.

This week, you took your sweet little chubby hands and put them on either side of my face and pulled me into you closely.  Then you closed your eyes and hummed "ummmmmmm" over and over.  I melted.  You did this with Boo Boo Kitty at Grammie and P-pa's house over the weekend, but that's the first time you have ever "hugged" me in that way.

You are also speaking all sorts of words now.  "Pup" is your favorite word, by far.  When you see a dog when we are in the car, out for a walk, on tv, wherever, you stop what you are doing and point and say "pup, pup, pup!"  It's adorable.  You also call most other animals "pup" too.  I don't correct you.  That's adorable too, and this is the only time ever that you will do that.  I'm just enjoying it.

You have also learned the word "duck" as in the rubber ducks that you play with in the tub.  But you say "cuck" instead of "duck".  I know you know how to say the "D" sound because you know "Dada". After trying to correct this many many times this week, I realize that you like saying "cuck" and I know what you mean, so "cuck" it is.  You precious girl.

You have skipped right over the sippy cup and moved straight to a child's cup with a straw.  You are drinking from that like a champ now.  You have started holding it all by yourself and slurping away on that little straw.  You point to what you want, particularly with food.  Yesterday at snacktime, you had milk and yogurt and we spent the entire time alternating one drink of milk, followed by one spoon of yogurt because you kept pointing back and forth from one to the next. You have definitely figured out how to communicate with us.

You also now know your "eyes" and "nose".  Daddy is teaching you your "ears" and I have been working on "mouth".  Yesterday, I said to you- "Lexi, you have such pretty eyes" and you stuck your finger in your eye!  WHAT?!?!?  I thought, is this a coincidence?  So I quickly asked you where your nose was, and you pointed straight to your nose.  Dang it, babydoll, you are learning things so quickly now I can't keep up!

You are teething again.  It appears to be a set of molars, but you close up shop when we try to investigate.  Thankfully, you haven't really been fussy about it.  Just VERY drooly.  But otherwise, you are teething no problem.

Oh, how I love you, Lexi.  I bet I tell you that 500 times a day.  And I'm sure I always will.  You are SO SO SO loved.
