Lexi at 15 Months

Edit Posted by with No comments
Dear sweet Babydoll, today you are 15 months old, and my oh my, the firsts just keep coming.  You now have eight teeth, four up top and four on the bottom.  Your most recent two bottom teeth just came in this month.

You are walking now.  You started walking behind your walker toy just a couple weeks ago and now you have pretty much dropped the toy and taken off.  Lots of steps in a row now, longer and longer distances at a time.  You are getting it fast now.  This is it.  Watch out, world.  Lex is on the move! And because of this development, you have also started wearing shoes more and more now too.  You are actually keeping them on and I think they have helped with the walking a lot.

You are talking like a little motor mouth now.  New words all the time.  When you drop things, you say "uh oh".  I have no idea where you picked that up because I have never said that, but you are very consistent with that one.  Also, you now say "good girl" whenever I do, which is often between you and Izzie all day every day.  The other day, you started saying "moon" and pointing out the moons in your books.  That is one of the words we have been learning from your books, but it still surprised me when you started doing that. You also say "poop" now when you have in fact pooped.  It sounds a lot like "pup".  The other night at dinner, you kept saying "pup" and we couldn't figure out what you were talking about until we got you out of your high chair, and realized you were saying "poop".  A quick diaper change later and all was well again.

You still love, love, love books.  You drag them over to me one after another all day long.  You crawl into my lap and we read, read, and read some more.  You flip the pages and point things out, saying the words you know, and learning more every day.  You know when your books are done too.  You usually flip back to the beginning and we just start over again. When we get to a page that has a picture on it that you especially like (usually an animal- cats this month), you literally pull the book into your face and kiss it and hug it.  You darling doll.   Those books have also taught you your eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.  You now know what all of those parts are and point them out perfectly every time we ask you where they are.

You still drink from a cup and straw like a big girl.  Now you are holding your own cup in your little hands and move the cup around until the straw hits your mouth, then you just suck down that milk.

You take 2 naps per day- you sleep about an hour in the morning, and another hour to two hours in the afternoon, depending on how busy you were during the day.

You wear a size 4 diaper and size 12-18 month clothes.  Oh, and a size 4 shoe...

I just pulled your hair into pigtails for the very first time TODAY, and oh my, aren't they cute?  I do think they make you look like a little girl and not so much like a baby, so I have mixed feelings about that.  And I do miss your ginormous bows when you are wearing your hair in pigtails, but let's face it- you are so stinking cute either way.

And finally, I asked your Daddy to take photos of you this month to mark this milestone, so all the pics you see here were taken by him.  We took them in the pond area at the entrance to our subdivision.  We love you so much, baby girl.  You are just everything!!!
