Family Artwork

Baby girl, before you were born (almost two years ago now), I asked all the artists in our family to draw a little picture that I would be able to display in your nursery.  Well, you know what they say about good intentions. In any case, your family came through for you in a big way.  And even though we haven't found a good way to display these lovely works in your small bedroom (yet), we do have all the originals safely stored, and I thought I would add them here as well.

So first is the drawing your Daddy made for you.  It's a picture of our little family, including Izzie. And oh, it's wonderful. 

 

This next one is actually from your Granddaddy, even though he signed it Daddy.  He's my Daddy and he made this before you were born so I guess he wasn't your Granddaddy yet.  In any case, he's been drawing Donald Ducks since I was a little girl.

And look at this lovely.  Aunt Misty drew you a beautiful flamingo.  Little did we now how much you would come to love them.  But you do.  What a wonderful coincidence. 

The minute I started asking family for drawings, your Cousin Aidyn started drawing this giraffe.  He did it without my knowing and presented it to me for your nursery.  My heart just melted.  He was 8 years old at the time. 

Then, Cousin Charlotte set to work.  She's quite the artist- just like her Mama (Aunt Misty).  Just look at this little horse.  She was 12 years old when she drew this. 

And then she drew a second one.  This one in colored chalk.  I am so impressed.  I couldn't do this now, let alone when I was 12.

Not to be outdone, I had to draw you a picture too.  I decided to draw my other baby, your sister, Izzie Lu.  

And it looks like Aunt Donna had a similar idea.  She drew her pup, Smitty.  Isn't this just adorable? And it looks exactly like him!

And finally, your Pa Pa drew all these wonderful characters for you.  Oh my, they are treasures.  I sure do love that Snoopy, and of course, you love the Pluto. 

None of us could have predicted how much you would love Mickey Mouse, but you do.  And this drawing is right on time. 

Sweet sweet Br'er Rabbits....  They are perfect!

And so are these!  I do love Snoopy, and you are starting to learn who he is too.  

Oh, I'm so glad we have these.  And I am so thankful for the wonderful family who created them.  You are a lucky little girl, surrounded with lots of family who love you so much.
