It's That Time of Year Again!

Edit Posted by with No comments
Oh BOY!  Twice a year, your Mama works diligently to clean out your closet to make room for new clothes- a new season and new sizes!  And in clearing out the old things, I take a trip down memory lane each time, remembering when you wore all your special outfits the year before.

Mostly, I carefully hang them and prepare them to pass along in the local consignment sales.  It's a wonderful way to move on the things that no longer fit to someone else who will use them.  And it always brings in a tidy sum to add to your little bank account too.  And by consigning in the sales, it also allows me to shop before the public and find you wonderful new outfits for the upcoming season.  Oh, it's work.  Let me tell you.  But it's worth it.

HOWEVER, there are always a handful of precious outfits that I cannot part with.  Here is a glimpse at some of the things I saved this go round.

Your first Easter outfit from last year.  (with bloomers, bib, and bonnet)

I even saved the shoes.  They look soooo small now!

This Raggedy Ann dress was one you wore on your first birthday.  NO BRAINER!  I kept it!

And this little blue frock is one that you took your 12 month photos in. It's also a keeper.  You wore this a lot last summer too.

I'm pretty sure the only time you wore this precious pink sailor dress was also for your 12 month photos, but I couldn't pass it along.  It is special.

This little bicycle dress was one that you wore often last summer, so I did keep it as well.

Aunt Donna made you this dress.  I have a feeling it may still fit this summer.  Time will tell.  Of course, we will always keep the wonderful handmade things that Aunt Donna makes for you.

And from last Independence Day, you wore this wonderful sailor dress.  I will save it for you, Babydoll.

You also wore this little jumper to the fireworks that evening, and I saved it too.

And when you started walking late last summer, these were your first real shoes.  They are the tiniest little baby Vans with the cutest little hearts on them.  Yep, they are keepers too.

There are a handful of other things that I also kept from last spring/ summer.  But thankfully, those clothes are still pretty small and don't take up much room.  In the future, we will have to choose what we save onto wisely.  For now though, I'm so glad we have these wonderful little frocks to keep for you, and maybe for your little girl someday.

I love you always, Babydoll.
