2016 SNOW!

Edit Posted by with No comments
Well, it finally happened.  Winter finally came to Middle Tennessee, and we saw SNOW for the first time (probably for the only time) this year.   Nashville received a whopping 8 inches, which is one of its biggest snowfalls in many years.  But here in Franklin we saw about 3-4 inches when it was all said and done.  Oh, it was plenty for us.  Plenty to play in, and you just LOVED it!!

Here you are SLEDDING for the first time with one of the other neighborhood kids! The look on your face says it all.  I think you liked it just a little.

We actually borrowed this sled from the next door neighbor.  It had a string on it so we could pull you around.

Here we are just venturing out.  It's hard to tell in these photos but it was actually still coming down while we were out there.  It was COLD, and the wind was blowing that snow right in our faces.  It only added to the experience though.

Like Mama, like baby.  We both doubled up on the hats and kept toasty warm.  You are 20 months old in these photos.

I will give our neighborhood credit.  It's always been a fun community that gets together for fun things.  Here are the residents of our cul-de-sac all out together with the kiddos having fun on this snow day.

Here you are with Daddy.  And this is a better look at all the layers you were wearing.  You had on a long sweater dress and leggings, with corduroy pants over the top of them.  Then I added socks and leg warmers, followed by snow boots (that Santa brought for Christmas).  On the top half, you were wearing your puffer coat, knit hat tied at the chin to keep it in place, and mittens.  You left it all on and didn't mess with any of it, even those mittens.  Good good girl.

Off to the races.  You are fearless!

And here's another look at you sledding.  You did really well considering there was nothing to hold on to and all those layers made it a little tough to sit up straight!

Daddy got your Barbie Jeep out for you.  You had those little back wheels just a spinning!

Daddy bailed you out a time or two to get you going again!

But then you got stuck in a snow drift and it was all over.

So it was back to the snow. You investigated the front yard, walking and crawling your way around the yard.  That was a lot of snow for you to walk in.

Day two brought a clearing from the snow showers, but still brutal cold and left us with plenty of snow to still play in.  We dressed you up once more to play again.  This time we took Izzie along with us.

You two have always been thick as thieves!

Here you are doing a little snow dancing together.  I just love this picture of the two of you!

Izzie wore her buffalo plaid (fleece lined) jacket.  I wish I had mittens for her too.

Daddy did a little more shoveling, and you were interested in that for a moment or two.

But then the fun of the snow and your sissy was calling and you two were soon back at it again!

And to compare, the following photos were taken last winter.  This was in fact your first snow.  You were around 8 months old in these pictures.

That was our big snowfall last year- maybe an inch or two.  When you live in the south, you don't see snow that often, Babydoll!

Just look at how teeny you were.  And such a good sport!

So there it is.  Another winter, another little snow for our neck of the woods!  I'm so glad you enjoyed it, baby girl.  What a difference a year makes!
